So I’ve been having a really hard time here lately at school. I’m not getting bad grades and I’m keeping up with everything. The part I’m having a hard time with are the rules.

The rules at SBU (to me) are completely insane. Visitation hours are absolutely ridiculous. The fact that a 21 year old living off campus can’t have ONE drink with their dinner is ridiculous. Dear administration…While there are students who are idiots and can’t be responsible…there ARE students who can be responsible and when they drink, can stop before they reach the point of no return.

But let’s be honest here ok? SBU’s rules are nowhere near as bad as Pensacola Christian College’s rules. Seriously PCC?

Also…Bob Jones University? Since when is it better to have firearms in a dorm when you can’t even have contemporary Christian music in it? I would think, as an institution, that you would be ok with contemp. Christian music over a pistol.

So…if I were to compare SBU to those two schools…I’d much rather go to SBU.

Here are a few questions…

Are these rules in place to help us? If so…how are they helping us?

Are the rules completely 100% biblical?

If you’re going to have these rules placed (such as the visitation hours rule), why isn’t there a meeting place where people of the opposite sex can hang out after midnight?

I’m going to put up the link to Bob Jones University’s student handbook and then a website that has a lot of PCC’s rules on it. You should really take a look at it. It honestly made me appreciate my school’s rules more…but still…ugh.
